PTFE
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a soft, low friction fluoropolymer with outstanding chemical resistance and weathering resistance. PTFE is one of the most versatile plastic materials known and can be used for applications where other materials can't be used. Only a few chemicals react with it.
Its mechanical properties are low compared to other engineering plastics, but its properties remain at a useful level over a great temperature range (-400° to 500°F). PTFE sheets and rods are ideally suited for the manufacture of high-temperature seals, insulators and bearings used in semiconductor, aerospace & chemical processing industries.
